It’s that time of year again, a change in seasons! As we transition from Spring to Fall, we are reminded that the desire to help others hasn’t changed. As we usher in Fall we are also gearing up for Diaper Need Awareness Week.
What is “diaper need”?
Diaper need is defined as, not having a sufficient & adequate supply of diapers in order to keep babies dry and healthy. Not having a sufficient supply of diaper can lead to financial, emotional, and health issues. Not having a sufficient supply of diapers not only impacts the baby, it impacts the entire family.
Diaper Need Awareness Week 2024 is September 15th thru Sept 21st.
It is our goal to increase the awareness of diaper need in our community. An increase in awareness comes from continued community donations and support.
Like in previous years, we are asking community members, business, and organizations to host a diaper donation drive on our behalf or make a donation. All items and funds collected will benefit families in Greene and Tuscaloosa Counties.
Ways to support Bottoms Up:
-Volunteer
-Donate diapers and other baby essentials
-Financial contributions
-Host a diaper drive
-Share our information with others on and off social media
We are able to do what we do with the continued support of others. Help us continue to serve the families in Greene and Tuscaloosa Counties.

From The National Diaper Bank Network:
https://nationaldiaperbanknetwork.org/awareness-week/
A signature initiative of the National Diaper Bank Network launched in 2012, the National Diaper Need Awareness Week provides individuals, organizations, communities, and elected officials the opportunity to engage in real talk and simple actions. By working together we can ensure that all babies have access to clean diapers and other basic necessities required for them to thrive and reach their full potential.
One in two U.S. families struggles to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy.
We invite you to get involved. Be a part of the growing movement of diaper bank leaders, advocates, and individuals across the U.S.
– Bottoms Up Diaper Bank has been serving families in West Alabama since January 2016.
