Volunteering with Bottoms Up

Hi, my name is Desiree. I am currently a senior in high school. I feel that through my community involvement, I can make an impact in my community and society.

I met Mrs. Lee through a close friend and she told me about Bottoms Up and encouraged me to volunteer.

I shared the information with my parents and we decided that it would be a great way to increase my community visibility and skills that could be beneficial down the road.

During my time volunteering, I have seen how Bottoms Up has helped many families have the necessities to take care of their babies.

Volunteering at the diaper bank makes me feel happy and accomplished, even when I feel may be doing so little. Sorting and wrapping diaper may not seem like a lot, but I feel that I make an impact in my service to Bottoms Up….there is a method to getting those diapers wrapped quickly and efficiently.

Volunteering with the diaper bank has changed my insight on society. I did not realize so many families struggled to provide for their little ones in a way they would like to.

Being able to help as much as we can makes volunteering so worth it.

I really do enjoy volunteering at the diaper bank. It’s something so simple, yet very satisfying.

Benefits of volunteering with the diaper bank: helping others, skills that I can use later, connections, and fan-girling over the babies.
